MLSC U15 Off to a Good Start
U15 Girls Off to Strong Start

Our U15 girls have gotten off to a fast start in this 2009/2010 season.

The team which plays in the Florida State Premier League started August off with 3 wins and 1 loss.  The girls traveled to the west coast of Florida to compete in the Labor Day Nike Cup.   They opened play versus last years runner-up Citrus United winning 4-1.  The second game was matched up the girls versus FSA Alliance, who had won their first game and the team who left victorious would have a commanding lead on the bracket.  The girls once again elevated their game and were on fire, completely dominated the match in route to a 5-1 victory.  The girls then breezed past their last opponent and into the semi-finals versus a familiar foe from the state league West Pasco Elite.  In a match that was as frustrating as humanly possible for the Miami Lakes faithful, the girls once again dominated the time of possesion and shots on goal, but unfortunately could not convert that into goals.  The game ended in regulation tied one to one and remained that way through two overtime periods.  The game came down to penalty kicks and not until the 8th player for each team had kicked their penalty did the game end with a victory for West Pasco.  Although it was a very tough pill to swallow, looking at it retrospect it was a great start to what will hopefully be a very successful season.
