Miami Lakes U6 Black Qualify for 3v3 National Championships in Disney July 29 - August 1
On May 8-9, 2010 the MLSC U6 Black played in the 3v3 Challenge Sports Regional Qualifying Tournament in Miramar, FL. 16 Under 6 teams came out trying to vie for the 4 spots that were up for grabs to qualify for the National Championships. On Sunday, only 8 teams qualified to the elimination rounds. The MLSC U6 team wasted no time in dispatching the #2 seed Miami-Centro by the score of 5-2. With this win, it guaranteed them clasification into the Challenge Sports 3v3 National Championships in Disney’s/ESPN Wide World of Sports in July. They advanced to the semifinal, in which they lost a heartbreaker 5-4 in a game they led 4-1. Nevertheless, the kids quickly put that game behind and did triumph in the 3rd place game vs Liverpool of Naples and won in PK’s 2-1. The scoring was led by Joshua Rivera, Giovanny Badillo and Jay Portela and the defense was anchored by Julian Arikape and Mathew Oliva.
